to TBROOKER........
Not all keyboards will allow you to use adapters to convert from their USB end plug over to a PS/2........and I fear that's what your problem might be with your Microsoft keyboard.. I see many people upset that these adapters wont work with their keyboards or mice.
If your Keyboard or mouse didn't INCLUDE AN ADAPTER in it's box when you bought it, chances are you cant use one. At least, that's what I've found. Better to install a USB HUB if you need more ports.

Did not work at all with my Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000v1.0, I only have 3 USB ports working and needed this to free up one of my ports. Very disappointed. Will keep looking or if anyone knows of one please advise. There is no manual or driver downloads, nothing. It is very cheap and maybe that's why it doesn't work.
